- Proud2BMe is an online community created by and for teens. We cover everything from fashion and beauty to news, culture, and entertainment — all with the goal of promoting positive body image and encouraging healthy attitudes about food and weight. Associated with the National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA).
Mirror-Mirror
- Mirror-Mirror.org was created in 1997 by Colleen Thompson to provide education and support for people with eating disorders while also helping Colleen to educate herself as she worked to recover from her own eating disorder. Today, Mirror-Mirror continues to provide information, education, and support to the eating disorder community and beyond, including people dealing with eating disorders themselves and loved ones that want to support friends or family members with eating disorders.
Beauty Redefined
- Created by Lindsay Kite and Lexie Kite, 28-year-old identical twin sisters with Ph.D.s in the study of media and body image from the University of Utah (’13). We have a passion for helping girls and women recognize and reject harmful messages about their bodies and what “beauty” means and looks like. Beauty Redefined represents our not-for-profit work through the Beauty Redefined Foundation (501(c)(3)) to take back beauty for girls and women everywhere through continuing the discussion about body image, women’s potential and media influence.

Eating Disorders Coalition (EDC)
- The advocacy organization for eating disorders. Advancing recognition of eating disorders as a public healthy priority at the federal and state level.
Academy for Eating Disorders (AED)
- A global professional association committed to leadership in eating disorders research, education, treatment, and prevention.
Binge Eating Disorder Association (BEDA)
- A national organization focused on providing leadership, recognition, prevention, and treatment of BED and associated weight stigma.
National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH)
- The largest scientific organization in the world dedicated to research focused on the understanding, treatment, and prevention of mental illnesses through basic and clinical research, paving the way for prevention, recovery, and cure.
The Renfrew Center
- The nation’s first residential eating disorder facility, Renfrew offers residential treatment, day treatment, intensive outpatient treatment, and outpatient services to women suffering from anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, eating disorder not otherwise specified (EDNOS), and related mental health problems.
Monte Nido & Affiliates
- Monte Nido is a treatment program created in 1996 by therapist and recovered anorexic Carolyn Costin. Monte Nido offers residential, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient services centered on the philosophy that full recovery is possible for every person with an eating disorder. Many therapists and counselors at Monte Nido are themselves recovered from eating disorders and other addictions.
Project HEAL
- A non-profit organization that provides grant funding for people with eating disorders who cannot otherwise afford treatment.
